Much like the plus-size industry in North America, the Japanese curve scene is still up and coming. The first impression can be discouraging; very few mainstream stores carry what would be considered plus size (check out the sizing chart ) and "Free Size" is reigns supreme in many boutiques. After many, many disastrous attempts to update my wardrobe, I finally stumbled into the growing plus size fashion industry in Japan.
